Antalya's Golden Autumn: Tourism Booming in October 2025 with Record Numbers
Antalya, Türkiye — Despite the official end of the high summer season, tourism in Antalya is not slowing down; it's gaining momentum. According to Kaan Kavaloğlu, Chairman of the Mediterranean Hoteliers and Investors Association (AKTOB), the region is firmly cementing its status as the tourism capital of Türkiye and is set for a record-breaking autumn.
2025 Season Success: Over 12.8 Million Tourists by Mid-September
Although the 2025 season had a challenging start, it is ultimately being hailed as a success. Kavaloğlu reported that the number of tourists visiting Antalya exceeded 12.8 million people by September 15th. While early July saw some difficulties with hotel occupancy, the situation improved significantly in the second half of the month, followed by a substantial surge in bookings that continued well into September.
Crucially, the tourist flow did not diminish even after schools opened in various countries, indicating a stable, year-round interest from families, couples, and individual travelers.
Guest Geography: Who's Enjoying the Mild Season?
September 2025 revealed a strong and diverse tourist base. The primary visitors remain guests from Russia, Germany, and the United Kingdom, followed by travelers from Poland, Romania, Kazakhstan, and the Netherlands. While domestic tourism saw a slight dip after August, Turkish families and couples continue to actively vacation on the coast.
The forecast for October shifts the focus, with tourists from Germany, the UK, and Belgium expected to form the dominant share.
The Secret to Autumn Success: Discounts and Alternative Tourism
To extend the season and maximize appeal, Antalya's hotels are offering significant incentives. A major feature of the autumn is substantial accommodation discounts—up to 30%, making holidays more accessible. Special programs for families and attractive packages for couples are also on offer.
AKTOB’s plans aim to extend the season until the third week of November by prioritizing the development of alternative tourism types:
Cultural Tourism: Excursions to ancient cities (e.g., Perge, Aspendos) and museums.
Sports Tourism: Hosting competitions and training camps.
MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Exhibitions) Tourism: Organizing conferences, seminars, and expos.
Golf Tourism: A segment rapidly growing in popularity among European guests.
The mild climate, well-developed infrastructure, rich cultural program, and comfortably warm sea temperatures allow Antalya to remain an attractive destination virtually year-round.
Thus, Autumn 2025 is set to be a record-breaker in terms of both tourist numbers and diversity of offers, affirming Antalya's status as a leading Mediterranean tourist destination.
