Tourism Academy Strengthens Collaboration with Konyaaltı Municipality

International relations
In early July, an official meeting took place between the Rector of the Tourism Academy, Professor Zafer Bikkenoglu, and the Mayor of Konyaaltı, Cem Kotan. This event marked an important step toward strengthening ties between the educational community and local authorities, particularly in light of the rapid growth of the Russian-speaking population in the region.
During the discussion, both parties addressed a wide range of issues related to the integration of foreign residents, particularly Russian-speaking students and families living in the Konyaaltı district. Special attention was given to the role of the Tourism Academy and the Russian-language school in providing high-quality, accessible education at an international level. The Rector noted that an increasing number of students from CIS countries are choosing Antalya for their studies, and the Academy strives to create the most comfortable and transparent conditions for them, both academically and in everyday life.

One of the key topics of the meeting was the process of obtaining residence permits for foreign students and their family members. With its extensive experience working with international students, the Tourism Academy expressed its readiness to support students with information and legal guidance. The conversation also covered the overall situation of foreign residents in the Konyaaltı district, including issues of adaptation, access to municipal services, and cultural and social integration.
Mr. Cem Kotan, in turn, expressed interest in developing dialogue with educational institutions and emphasized the importance of supporting youth and intercultural initiatives. He also gratefully accepted the invitation to attend the Last Bell Ceremony, which will take place at the Tourism Academy on May 23. This event traditionally brings together students, faculty, parents, and guests, serving as a symbolic conclusion to the academic year.

The meeting demonstrated mutual interest in fostering sustainable cooperation. The Tourism Academy is confident that collaboration with local authorities plays a vital role in creating a modern, open, and multilingual educational environment capable of meeting the challenges of the times and the expectations of new generations of students.

Such dialogue is not only an expression of mutual respect but also a contribution to the development of Antalya as an international educational hub with rich cultural and social infrastructure.
