Antalya Extends Tourist Season: Vacationing Continues Until November

Tourism News

Tourist Arrivals in Antalya Remain High

Turkey’s resort capital continues to lead in attracting foreign tourists in 2025. Since the beginning of the year, the region has welcomed around 10 million visitors, the majority of whom are travelers from Russia, Germany, the United Kingdom, and Poland. At the same time, domestic tourism is also showing steady growth.

According to Kaan Kashif Kavaloglu, President of the Mediterranean Association of Touristic Hoteliers and Operators (AKTOB), current hotel occupancy remains high, and bookings for October and November have even exceeded last year’s figures by 2–3%.

Turning Antalya into a Year-Round Tourist Destination

A key strategy for the region is the diversification of tourism offerings. While summer remains synonymous with beach vacations, autumn and winter are increasingly filled with sporting events, conferences, and cultural activities.

Antalya has long established itself as a center for sports tourism, hosting international tournaments and training camps for football, tennis, and other sports. Golf plays a particularly important role — the region boasts 18 modern courses, which are actively used even during the winter months.

Conference tourism is also significant. The NEST Center in Belek hosts major international events, and similar venues are planned for development in other resort areas, such as Kemer, Manavgat, and Alanya.

Cultural Heritage: Boosting Tourism in the Region

In addition to sports and seaside relaxation, Antalya offers a unique opportunity to explore history. Ancient cities such as Aspendos, Perge, Olympos, Side, and Patara, which have preserved the spirit of antiquity, are becoming increasingly popular among tourists.

The Ministry of Culture and Tourism actively invests in their preservation and promotion. One of the most successful initiatives is the “Night Museums” program, allowing visitors to explore historical sites after sunset. This not only makes cultural tourism more accessible but also enables tourists to combine beach leisure with educational excursions.

Investments in infrastructure, the development of alternative tourism offerings, and a focus on safety help Antalya maintain its status as one of the world’s leading tourism hubs. The extension of the tourist season until November and the richness of the autumn-winter events calendar demonstrate that the region is steadily moving toward becoming a year-round resort destination.
