A representative of the American Hotel and Lodging Educational Institute (AH&LA) Mr. Ed Kastli visited International College of Tourism.

It was the first visit of AH&LA Director for Africa, Asia and Middle East to our college. We were very happy to receive such an honorary guest on our premises.

Our colleagues showed Mr. Kastli around, introduced him to our students, who were very inquisitive and asked a lot of questions! Main subjects for discussion were problems of tourism development and career opportunities in the hospitality industry. The students found Mr. Kastli intellectual, friendly and with a good sense of humor; everyone enjoyed the discussion.

Mr Kastli held a meeting with the director of the college, Mr. Zafer Bikkenoglu. At the meeting directors discussed fruitful cooperation between AH&LA and International College of Tourism. Mr. Kastli said that in such a short period of time (only two years) our college has really succeeded in teaching tourism according to AH&LA programs and most importantly, International College of Tourism is the only educational establishment that teaches AH&LA programs in Russian!  Our American guest said that the college has the potential to become a strong educational center, where various professions can be taught for different positions – starting from the waiter and up to the general manager.

We express our gratitude to Mr. Kastli for appreciating and commending the activity of the International College of Tourism and we are sure that hard work, enthusiasm and most importantly the desire to be innovative will allow us to prepare high quality specialists of hotel and restaurant industry.
